Literary  Society ( Word Visharad)
  1. Orientation and Election of active Student Members Of Literary Society
18th August 2014 The students were oriented with the objectives and purpose of literary society. And the events and activities that literary society is going to undertake during the year.
2. Creative Writing and Quiz Competition 21th August 2014 Creative Writing competition was also organised on 21th August 2014 wherein near about 35 students participated. Students participated enthusiastically and shared their creative views on various issues. The winners were declared amongst the participants. Head of Department Dr. Rosy Walia congratulated the students  and appreciated their effort and encouraged them to take part further in such activities.
3. PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION. 22nd Aug 2014 Public Speaking Competition was organized by the literary society (Word Visharad) of our college on 22nd August 2014. A total of 13 students participated in Debate/Elocution & Poetry Recitation. The following Topic were given for Debate: The importance of learning English in India is overstated”” Do you agree or disagree? & the following Topics were given for Elocution: • Drugs in Sport • Free speech is not an absolute right • Is money the biggest motivator at the workplace? • Advertisements create artificial needs. • FDI in multi brand retail- A boon or bane • Women Liberation: Is it real time liberating? • There are no bad children only Bad parents • Need for Sex Education  
4.PU YOUTH FEST ACHIEVEMENTS 2014  17 &18th October 2014 Our students also participated in PU Zonal Youth Festival on 17th & 18th Oct 2013 at SGGS College Sec 26, Chd wherein again they brought laurels to our college by showcasing their talent in Literary items and won various prizes in various activities. 5. INTER ZONAL YOUTH FEST 2014-15 30th  Oct 2014 Gagandeep Singh of B COM II got third prize in Inter- Zonal Youth Festival 2014-15 on 30th Oct 2014 held at DAV College Sec 10. The topic of Elocution was National Integration wherein about 8 teams from various zones participated
6. AD SHROFF Memorial inter class elocution competition in collaboration with Dr. Inder Kaur Charitable Trust, Chandigarh.   11th Nov 2014 A total of 22 students from BBA & B.Com participated in the competition. The topics for Elocution were as follows: A: Role of Youth in Democracy B: Economics of Water Conservation C: Challenges of Urbanization D: Economic Implications of Creating Smaller States E: Foreign Direct Investments-Issues & Challenges Judges for the event were: Mr Yogesh Kumar, Assistant Prof in Economics. Dr Manoj Kumar(Associate Professor in Commerce) & Dr Amarnath Sharma(Librarian) & Miss Manjula Sharma member of dr Inder kaur charitable Trust. Prizes for the event were as follows: 1st Prize: Rs 1500 2nd Prize: Rs 1250 3rd Prize: Rs1000 & Two consolation prizes of Rs 500 each. 7. DISTRICT LEVEL INTER COLLEGE COMPETITION ORGANISED BY SRI SATHYA SAI (CHANDIGARH) 23th aug 2014 An Inter college Declamation competition was organized by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Foundation, CHD on 23 August 2014. Around 50 students participated from various course backgrounds and expressed their views on the given topics. Gagandeep Singh of B.Com II spoke on ‘Value Based Life is the need of the time’ and stood Second in the contest. The winners were sent to further compete at the state level.
8. INTER STATE LEVEL COMPETITION ORGANISED BY SRI SATHYA SAI AT YAMUNANAGAR 6th Nov 2014 An Inter- State round of the declamation competition was held on 6th Oct 2014 in Yamunanagar. A total of 15 contestants participated from various colleges of Punjab and Haryana and spoke on the given topics. Gagandeep Singh of B.Com II who spoke on ‘Value based life is the need of the time’ won the third prize at Inter State Level.
9.INTER-COLLEGE DEBATE COMPETITION 15th Nov 2014 A debate competition was organized by the history department of MCM DAV on 15 nov 2014. A total of 7 teams participated and debated on the topic ‘British Rule-a boon or a bane for the Indian Economy’.Gagandeep Singh of B.Com II won the first prize and he along with his team mate Prachi Dadwal of BBA I won the award for the Best Team.
10. INTER COLLEGE ECONOMICS BUSINESS QUIZ- 14TH NOV 2014- DAV COLLEGE SEC 10 CHD 14th Nov 2014 A student from our college was send to participate in Quiz competition wherein near about 30 teams participated.
